The Paris Universal Exibition in 1900, confirmed the fame of Louis Comfort Tiffany (New York 1848 - Brooklyn 1933) from New York as an outstanding innovator of glass art. He was inspired by Egyptian art and decorations on glasses and on the sarcophages.

Emile Gallé (1846 - 1904), an incredible fine artist, draughtsman, mineralogist, glass artist, "scientific illustrator " we would say today, furniture maker and humanist. I wonder if our century can replicate such noble souls like those who lived in the 17th and 18th century. I certainly see the same rigour and discipline in Russia art and music schools today, but for the rest, I am not sure.....
