A very easy recipee to make your own book binding glue at home.

You need the following ingredients to make 1/3 of a cup of glue:

    • 1/4 oz neutral gelatin
    • 3 table spoons of water
    • 1 table spoon of glycerin
    • 1 table spoon of vinegar

Put the little water in a pot and bring it to boil. Add the gelatin and stirr to dissolve it. Then add the glycerin and the vinegar and mix it. That's it!

This glue must be applied when warm and in a thin layer with a brush. The glycerin make it waterproof. And it can also be used not only for paper to paper, but for leather to leather. Also good for the cover using cloth to cardboard.

The gue can be ketp for months in a plastic or galss jar. Just in cae, you can rewarm it with a little hot water.
