I saw Giuliana VAlli's watercolors at a November 2010 exhibition in Como Italy at the former St. Peter's Church in the "centro storico" (the city centre) of the town I was born.
Mrs Valli works watercolors without using masking liquids and she limit herself to simply create some "channels" with the bottom of her brush before laying the wash as to create some effects, sometimes.
Some of her watercolors depict the Como Lake in a very painterly way. There are portraits and still-life paintings also. The latter are what I liked the most along with some view of the lake "in controluce".
